These are the major Chakras, but legend has it that (most of my reading says this number is really unknown) there are 21 other minor or Tertiary Chakras located throughout the body.
On Saturday, I had another major opening and this one was felt in my hands. Let me stop here to just state the importance of movement for our bodies (as if we don't already know this)! Our bodies each and every point of them need to experience movement for growth and opening. Exercise is paramount, but I think, more importantly we must experience conscious movement to receive full benefits.
As usual, I digress. On Saturday I needed to make a quick Target run. While walking through the store hunting for the latest "Ben Ten" action figure for my little cousin, I spotted that hairball you see in the photograph.
As soon as I picked it up I was hooked. It's like a giant stress ball, covered in little rubber hairs. It's squishy and squashy and tingly all at once. And, while I strolled around the store, playing with this ball, I was practicing keeping an open mind and an open heart. Well I played with the thing the entire time I walked around the store. When my friend spotted it still in my hands at the register, her response, "Girl, I KNOW you are not gonna waste money on that toy!"
The cashier even noticed and commented about the fun time I seemed to be having. "Her face is all lit up" But more than a fun time, playing with this ball sparked energy. The palms of my hands seemed to light up with energy, energy that I could feel coursing through my palms and up into my arms. The sensation has not stopped!
The Teritary Chakras located in the palms of your hands when stimulated and active are associated with energy, movement and healing. I guess this is why the pain I've been feeling in my wrists and fingers has all but vanished.
Hmm, I wonder if I've got the midas touch??!!
Today I am thankful for my hands, they are more than tools attached to my arms that help me navigate my world. They are the epitome of the yin and the yang. They are used to give and to receive, creating perfect balance.
