I looked up and thought, wow, 22 posts in a row! That places me about midway to the completion of my first goal—the 45 day one. But, I guess that really doesn’t even count since I decided maybe three days into it to go for 365.
I had a couple of reasons for choosing to do the 365 in a row. For starters, I saw a really cute badge on someone’s site and thought, I want that!! The other was the desire to start a journal that I’d be shamed into sticking with. I do have a few people out there who are like, “Jei, get it together you need a new post!” Not that I feel any real obligations here, it’s not that kind of space. Finally, I really wanted to document my gratitude.
I’ve tried journaling so many times, and I’m good for a few months, but I always fall off. Sometimes it gets really ugly. I’ll get in bed after a long day, look at the nightstand, see the journal and pen sitting there, and just get mad at it..like Damn!! I forgot again!! So instead of being in a state of grace and benevolence, I’m lying in bed rolling my eyes at a book—like a fool! Then I tried The Simple Abundance Journal Gratitude. It sits half empty on my bookshelf. However, I really loved the concept of acknowledging something, at least one thing in your day that you can truly be thankful for. Here I’ve created a space to do it.
I think that doing this turns doing into being. So many of us are in search of, looking for, trying to (Let me not misrepresent myself here I’m one of them) but simple gratitude allows you to simply be. Be kind, be thankful, be aware, be in acknowledgement of, etc. Simply be that which you are striving to be.
At any rate, I’ve just decided to create my own badge. I’m gonna call it something like daily blessing blog or Blessings Blogger or I don’t know. I’ll let you know once I’ve decided, but it would be for people who include in each post of their blog something to be grateful for!
Today I am grateful for the internet(s) J! It has changed the way we live our lives, share and retrieve information.
